Artist Statement
‘Théo, Rolf & Walt’ is a collection of ceiling lamps that draw inspiration from Fritz Lang’s ‘Metropolis’.
Very organic and smooth from the outside, the viewer is surprised by the geometry created in their interior. The surprise effect is also highlighted through the contrast of the black exterior and the interiors’ natural wood finish.
When lit, the lamps create an effect of light and shadow as well as a deep geometric maze.
The lighting used is LED in order to reduce heat in the wood chamber. And they are hanged to the ceiling with a custom leather suspension.
