"Every new design is a project. We endeavor to create new living experience through reinvention and reinterpretation of material."
Project-j is a furniture design company started by Jackie Luk in 2016. Trained as an Architect, Jackie learned furniture design while studying in Denmark. The simplicity and functionality of Nordic Design shaped her work, which is a common language that can be seen in her design throughout.
While the early works of Project-J plays with light and pattern, the re-encounter with Asia, the density of urban living has influenced her into more in depth investigation into space saving form and diverse materials. In recent years, designs such as Hexa Duet and Hexa Wood use space saving form as a generative subject, in both cases pushing material to its full potential. The result is integration of material, traditional craft and new fabrication technique – unique product derived from such exploration.
