Artist Statement
This vase was designed by Studio Pirouette in collaboration with glassmaker Timothée Véron. It was imagined and prototyped in the midst of confinement (season 1), a period described as "in-between" (entre-deux). This name also evokes the dialogue that exists between the designer and the craftsman's know-how. A vase between two worlds.
It is handmade in their Toulouse workshop.
This vase exists in 5 colours.
Each object is unique, made in France and produced locally.

Artist Profile
Hometown: Toulouse
Based in: Toulouse
We are both passionate young creators. We met during our studies in the centre of France. Since that day, we frequently collaborate to create new objects in our common workshop located in the south of France, in Toulouse (31).
One is a designer, the other a craftsman. In most people's minds, these two worlds are not compatible. Many people think that the designer's job is to design what the craftsman will have to make. But both of us are keen to show that a creation is much more complex than that. It is only at the end of a long and interesting creative dialogue between these two fields that the object can finally see the light of day.
Our values
The Pirouette studio was founded in 2019 by the designer Alexis Jacquot. From the idea to the design in a short circuit, his projects highlight the stories behind their making. An object is not inert. It lives. It speaks. It tells a story. Every detail, every colour, every stroke of the knife at the origin of its creation must be visible on the object.
The numerous dialogues between the different actors in the design process are essential and perceptible in each of the studio's productions.
Timothée Véron is a glass craftsman who is used to collaborating with different designers. The relationship and dialogue between these two worlds is essential in his work. According to him, it is inconceivable to separate these two skills which complement each other perfectly.
Among these collaborations, many are signed with the Pirouette studio. The "Entre-Deux" project is the result of one of their partnerships. It is precisely this increasingly blurred line between these two creative worlds that is expressed and made visible on these vases.
Ethical and responsible manufacturing
Each project they imagine is handmade and produced locally with materials developed in a short circuit. Each production is made in their small workshop in Toulouse. Each piece is unique and highlights French know-how. Before putting their objects on sale, quality tests are carried out: the product is prototyped, manipulated, questioned, tested and finally improved so that it can perfectly meet the expectations of the users.
