Artist Statement
AVENTURE is inspired from ancient ruins in action adventure movies we enjoy watching. Chand Baori an Indian stepwell is where this project was largely inspired for the original form. The wild imagination of explorers, heroes and heroines gives joy. This work is an representation of these daydreams in an architectural form.
Travel towards the light
The act of climbing mountains or long temple stairs can be a moment of mediation and could be a self-reflecting moments. The shape interprets the narrative of imagination where the narrowing stairs towards the bottommost tier toward the source of the light projects a persona of an adventurer nearing the treasure by walking down in to it.
Traditional and modern design
Influenced by an ancient Indian well structure, the architectural elements were followed by repeatedly arranged elements of angled arches and stairs. Each elevation symmetrically rises, narrows down step by step. Aventure is designed as an architectural sculpture in balance of dynamic and classical architectural elements.
Material and finishing :
AVENTURE is made from wood and hand treated /assembled. Every product has unique wood patterns. (stained poplar plywood, matte finish)
