Yellowdot Design Studio was founded in Hong Kong in 2017 by design duo Bodin and Dilara from Hong Kong and Istanbul. As a ex-NASA engineer, Bodin brings a scientific and technological approach. Dilara coming from art and studio background adds a fun and artistic approach. Together, they create designs unique designs that are full of contrast: serious and fun, East meets West, technological meets emotional - through an endless creative process - their create meaningful story-driven work where the boundary begins.
Since starting their collaboration in Milan, they started their studio to Hong Kong to focus on the rapidly growing Asian market. Their unique background is evident throughout their studio - where the philosophy is to connect the unconnected from as many different fields outside of design to find new ideas - hence the name yellowdot - to connect the dots. They bring a fresh and fun perspective to the conservative culture of Hong Kong to break the boundaries of design and use creativity to solve problems and bring joy to everyday lives.
They split its time between consultancy work for top brands in Asia and creating their own limited objects and furniture collection called 'Memento' which was premiered at Maison & Objet Paris and Salone del Mobile Milan in 2019.
Recent winner of the Perspective 40 Under 40 award, they have also won the International Compasso d'oro, iF and James Dyson design award.
