Based in: Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain
Agnese Zirina is an artist and product designer. Born in Riga, Latvia, bred in London, England, and now based in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain.
Early on, Agnese developed an exceptional mind for creativity with skills in Art and Design. The divine beauty of creation has inspired her ever since.
She studied at the Riga School of Design and Art, earning a degree in Ceramics and Design. Later, she moved to London where she further developed her passion for art and design, graduating from London South Bank University as a product designer.
Agnese continued her journey through different media and design fields in London and then started her own art and design studio. With the studio expanding, she teamed up with her husband, David Canca, and they moved to southern Spain, where she decided to go back to her roots and immerse herself in her first love...ceramics.
With Agnese focusing on ceramics and design with David concentrating on engineering, they now run Studio 2123, an International Skill Exchange Hub (ISEH), connecting people and collaborating in art, design, craft, music, and engineering. Agnese also operates az_ceramic studio between Cabo de Gata Natural Park and London, distributing her work all over the world.
Focusing on bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces and commissioned projects, az_ceramic studio has a strong philosophy of promoting eco-design and sustainability. She also seeks to preserve the ancient craft of ceramics while also bringing it into the 21st century with a fresh approach to modern design.
Inspired by the sacred geometry of the Universe, Agnese’s creations are a true integration of art and design with minimalism and clean lines at their core.
