From his studio in North London he makes tableware for some of London's best and most exciting restaurants including Bao, The Clove Club, Ikoyi, Lyle's and UK national chain Zizzi.
Stylish, functional and hardwearing, Owen's work suits the demands of restaurant settings. Chefs return to the studio time and again to meet the needs of their evolving menus, projects and multiple sites and these demanding briefs encourage experimentation but with a focus always on the precise relationship between clay and glaze fit.
Pieces are handmade using various techniques: hand thrown, jigger jollied and slip cast and fired to stoneware temperature. A small selection of English clays are used and all glazes are developed in house.
The studio hopes one day to be carbon neutral! High efficiency solar panels were fitted to the workshop in 2019 and rainwater is used in all stages of production.
