Lives and Works: Berlin
Shigeki Yamamoto was born in 1979 in the Osaka prefecture of Japan & studied interior design at the Osaka Sogo College of Design. After graduating in 2000 he worked under Nobuyuki Tachibana, a Japanese iron sculptor. Shigeki Yamamoto also held a number of solo and group exhibitions as a metal furniture creator.
Since moving to Germany in 2006 he trained as a carpenter & has focussed on woodwork.
His original brand studio“Shigeki YAMAMOTO” was launched in Berlin in 2010. This brings a sense of fun into daily life while maintaining his love of quality.
He tries to keep a spiritual richness in his works in the face of today's industrialized mass production.
