Tang Contemporary Art was established in 1997 in Bangkok, later establishing galleries in Beijing and Hong Kong. With their largest space in Beijing’s iconic 798 Art District acting as one of the most progressive and critically-driven exhibition platforms in China, the gallery strives to initiate dialogue between artists, curators, collectors and institutions working both locally and internationally. A roster of groundbreaking exhibitions has earned the gallery global recognition establishing its status as a pioneer of the contemporary art scene in Asia, including major exhibitions for artists including Ai Weiwei, Huang Yong Ping, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, Zheng Guogu, Wang Du, Shen Yuan, Zhao Zhao, Yan Lei, Michael Lin, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. The gallery's recent expansion to a 2,000 sq. ft. exhibition space in Central Hong Kong and relocation to a 3,000 sq. ft. space in Bangkok is part of a long term expansion of their international programming.
