“Control” is an attempt at giving our darkest emotions a physical form. There is always that momentary lapse in our lives where our dark emotions take control of us and our solid self begins to melt and give way. This work captures that moment where one is being slowly overwhelmed and consumed by one’s darkness.
Charcoal is used here due to its hard yet porous and uncontrollable nature. Its color also lends itself freely to describe one’s dark emotions.
