We live in a world where duality reigns supreme. From black and white to yin and yang, this duality is present and ultimately rules reality of our life. This allows people to experience two sides of a single subject. My current practice explores the notions of duality which are inspired by our daily lives and people's urge of dealing with the concept of it. This work is about Freedom and Limitation. In my opinion, limitation best defines freedom as there is some or other kind of limitation in every freedom that a person has. By using Balloons as a symbol of freedom, I casted them using plaster that have cracks. And those cracks in the plaster cast represent that freedom is limited and one cannot achieve it completely. These casted structures hanged from the ceiling signify freedom of balloons within the limitation of gravity. Ultimately, I intend to create visuals that will let the audience to focus on the opposite side instead of their genuine importance of a single subject.
