Love Letters to The Sun is a mixed media installation series which expresses the unsaid feelings and thoughts of the past and present self.
In my work I approached around the ideas of time, memory, impermanence and the fluctuations of life. The old photographs, which are termed as remnants and letters to the golden days, are attached with handwritten text and light shining through them.
Nostalgia is projected through the sight of mundane happenings during the golden hour period, which comes and go everyday, much like how we tend to forget our memories. The mundane things in life will soon be left in the archives of our memory and we may find ourselves treasuring the thought of the past even more so than we did back then.
By combining both concepts of the golden hour and those golden days, I want the viewers to connect and relate to the sentiments that are attached to them. This gives a glimpse of co-existence between the conscious and unconscious state of mind and provides an insight to possible co-relation of what we see and what we perceive it to be.
