In this artwork, I am using found objects to question the significance of vernacular photographs focusing mainly on family photography. Looking into the context of the past and present understanding towards “Family” and how the meaning is gradually lost.
Using Cyanotype to transfer the image onto chosen materials such as old clothes/cloths and used as rags, this symbolizes the practice in which local people recycled their old clothes by using it as a floor rags, which are referred to as “Torkapor” in Hokkien.
