Kodama Gallery opened in Osaka in 1998.
Contrary to the heavily Tokyo-oriented Japanese contemporary art scene, Kodama Gallery has focused on Kyoto, Osaka-based artists. The gallery participates in various international art fairs, such as The Armory Show annually, after participating in Gramercy Art Fair (NY) in 1998, the initial year. The Tokyo branch opened in 2004, then moved and upsized in 2008, shifting the orientation toward a wider range of artists. It was in the same year that the main gallery in Osaka moved to Kyoto. The Kyoto gallery has two exhibition spaces, 500sq meters each, making it possible for Kodama Gallery to hold the largest gallery space in Japan. The annual amount of exhibitions at the Kodama Galleries sums up to 25 to 30 shows in the 3 spaces.
We don't have any works from this gallery at the moment. Get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
