Profile
Country: Singapore
The past 13 years have been both amazing and exciting for us at Mulan Gallery. Since our inception in 2008, we have had the opportunity to showcase works by respected and established artists such as Mao Lizi, Kang Hyung Koo, Ken Mihara and Singapore’s foremost ceramicist, Dr Iskandar Jalil, as well as promote the works of promising emerging talents. Our portfolio currently includes more than 40 artists.
Aside from our work at the gallery, we are regularly engaged in curation and management for various external projects and partners. Notably, we have been working with the Japan Creative Centre in Singapore on solo exhibitions for Dr Iskandar Jalil since 2015, as well as on Ceramic Expressions, an annual group exhibition series showcasing new developments in Singapore modern ceramic art since 2017. We worked with the National Institute of Education (NIE) on Dr. Iskandar Jalil: A Master Potter’s Philosophy & Process, an exhibition celebrating Dr Iskandar Jalil's craft and dedication to educating younger ceramicists, with an interactive digital platform designed to showcase the institute's collection of his works spanning over four decades. In addition, we work with corporate firms on cultivating their art collections, as well as interior designers to determine the best works for their projects.
In recent years, we have also focused our efforts on promoting and showing works by Singapore-based artists, notably printmakers and ceramicists. We remain deeply committed to growing our catalogue of artists and nurturing young and talented artists, and to continue to do our part in cultivating the vibrancy of the visual arts landscape in Singapore.
