YenakArt Villa is a contemporary art gallery in central Bangkok, located in one of the sub-sois of the quiet and elegant Yen Akat community, a few hundred meters away from the busy Sathorn area. It was founded in June 2015.
YenakArt Villa will feature from 6 to 12 exhibitions per year, mostly solo shows, of Thai or foreign contemporary artists. Each exhibition will be the opportunity for art-dinners which will gather art collectors and selected guests, in the presence of the exhibited artist.
Thanks to its modern architectural style and to its dimensions, the building, which faces a huge garden, is very appropriate for art exhibitions and exclusive events.
The style of the building reminds the European 1930’s architectural avant-garde (Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe) often called “skin and bones architecture”, because of the minimal framework of the structure and the free-flowing open space.
The exhibition hall of YenakArt Villa is a huge space which measures 160 square meters and has a 5 meters high ceiling. The façade, mostly made of glass, is creating a continuity between the indoor space and the 600 square meters garden. In the back of the building a loft had been build, and will serve as a residency for invited artists.
The façade lightning has been created by one of the most successful contemporary light artists, Matteo Messervy.
