Cogitation is a series of video art created by Alvin Mak created in 2022. Abstract imagery is warped and bent through 3D parametric data. The forming and dissolving of elements present the chaos of turbulent flow.
Cognition is a visualization of mental turbulence. The mind sifts through a multitude of information and emotion in the process of deep thoughts. Then a wave of revelation wipes the slate clean to initiate the next iteration. It is a perpetual process of mental activity to progress.

Alvin Mak is a visual artist and mechanical engineer based in Hong Kong. He is self taught and has been creating art since 2001.
His works explore a variety of medium from photography, art prints, sculptures to installations. He is drawn to abstraction and visual movement. He examines the interference of light to pursue mesmerizing visuals.
The creative journey led to video art and virtual objects. The time component plays on the movement and the flow of the elements. His aim is to explore and develop innovate new visual language.
