Arthur Hent is a French artist based in Nantes and Paris. He has a literary training, but has always drawn. The first drawing he remembers dates back to his early childhood: a black dog appeared in the superposition of straight lines. While pursuing his artistic career, he also develops his career as a copywriter for major Parisian advertising agencies, awarded with numerous international awards.
His work is inspired by algorithms, geometry and screenwriting : he writes stories with lines.
The idea for the line came to him in a vision when he was 23 years old. He saw two lines move, meet, then separate, and instantly associated their lines with the trajectory of two people. A few years later, returning from a journey in New Caledonia, he decided to create his language, to write with lines rather than words.
