I never imagined that I would become an artist. I graduated in architecture, but soon realized that I would not be an architect. Art appeared in my life as a distraction from work, a new way of using the tools of architecture design, the vector drawing programs.

At the beginning I dedicated myself to create patterns and textures, much influenced by the OpArt of the 50's, 60's and 70's, and wondering what artists of that period would create if they had the digital tools we have today. That's when I got to know Carlos Cruz-Díez's work more closely, his research with colors made my head spin. I tried to see everything I could from his extensive work, and thus distance myself and try to create something new. Then I discovered Sol LeWitt and his beautiful research, exploring patterns, colors, shapes and volumes.

My research takes different directions when I start to work with silkscreen printing. The ink texture on the paper created a piece much richer and interesting than the original design, clean and perfect on the computer screen. At this point I started using the scanner to capture and enlarge these micro details, creating images that could be printed, generating new works. I believe that this is one of the main characteristics of my research: a path back and forth, from the computer to the paper and vice versa, combining digital and analog techniques for creating and capturing images.
