Artist statement
This work is a self-portrait of a new kind. Inspired by computers, I represent my emotions beyond appearances thanks to a method that I invented. I proceed in the same way every time : I ask my hand to follow a program, an algorithm, as one follows a recipe (start from the center, use lines, or shapes derived from lines...) and during this operation, my hand releases my emotions. It chooses the direction of the line, its thickness, its color... In the end, a structure is formed which is the bio abstract image of my emotional state. My Self-Portraits invite us to reflect on the way in which geometric, “technological" forms can be organized to become almost alive.
