Artist statement
‘Lucky’ is the latest exhibition from Australian Artist and Textile Designer Chris Chun, which features the 12 animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Each animal combines traditional Asian symbolism with contemporary Western sensibilities to bring good fortune, health and happiness to their owner.
The Rabbit represents longevity, discretion and good luck. It has the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac.
People born under the sign of the Rabbit are kind-hearted, friendly, intelligent, cautious, skillful, gentle, quick and live a long life.
