While photographing his paintings to create a digital version of them, Lewis began to expressively edit the image of his paintings using various image editing programmes. His own paintings then became the subject for a new collection of work, his screen his canvas and image editing software became his medium. No longer creatively constraint by staying true to life the edited image becomes an artwork within its own right, often becoming unrecognisable to he original painting. The texture and expressive application of paint iconic to Deeney's paintings are still evident and at times amplified within the new digital image. Paradoxical geometries and bold radiant colours together to create a mesmerising abstract world which feels like gazing into an expansive landscape of possibilities.
