Artist Statement
Bergen is Norway's second-largest port and is one of the most popular cruise destinations in Europe. It's also the gateway to the Norwegian Fjords. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture, and exciting urban life.
That sunny winter afternoon, I was walking around the port area looking for a panoramic view, including Bryggen (the old wharf of Bergen) and Ulriken (the highest of Bergen's seven mountains). I composed the image, and then I waited for something that added dynamism. That's when a yacht appeared in the scene.
