CAPITAL shows the transformation of Lima downtown into an open-air showcase. The series expresses cumulative layers of information through the glass reflection where a simultaneity of urban realities happens. In 1988, UNESCO declared Lima's historic center of Lima a World Heritage Site.
I took this picture on a sunny autumn afternoon at Pasaje Acuña, a few blocks far from Lima's main square. I composed the scene, putting in value the reflections on a coffee shop window and waiting for something interesting. Suddenly a woman appeared to smoke a cigarette.
"Woman smoking reflected on a coffee shop glass in Lima's downtown" has been awarded an Official Selection in the 2020 Luminous Frames Photography Contest [Denmark]

I'm a French-Peruvian fine art photographer based in Norway. Nature, urban life, and live music are among the topics that inspired me the most.
I've always been amazed by the beauty of nature and cultural heritage. In that sense, I got involved in photography while documenting ecotourism experiences in Peru during 2006.
After working for more than a decade as a sustainable development consultant, I decided to return to school and study photography as a new creative career. I would discover there influential artists such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, Ernst Hass, Brett Weston, and Saul Leiter. They still have a significant impact on my aesthetics.
For my last project, Gausta in Seasons, I spent almost ten months (from December 2019 to September 2020) exploring this world-class mountain Norwegian destination.
Nowadays, I'm working on other visual projects in Bergen.
I like observing, in detail, the world(s) around me. So, I found in photography the art medium through which I can share what impresses me the most.
I believe in evolving things. That´s why my approach to photography is also a self-therapy to feed me with new remarkable experiences.
In that sense, nature and urban life are essential topics for me. I feel that both of them expand my creative process. When going outdoors, I take the time to encounter and enjoy my subjects: people, objects, or situations; they all matter.
