In-person art residencies are back, providing a great environment for artists to create in a space full of inspiring fellow artists devoted to their artistic discipline. Residencies in the USA

The Tides Institute & Museum of Ar– ​​StudioWorks Artist-in-Residence Program

Deadline: February 1, 2022

Where: Eastport, Maine, USA

Period: 4 Weeks

About: The StudioWorks artist-in-residence program is open to professionally established and/or emerging visual artists and craftspeople from anywhere in the world. Proposals will be considered from artists working in drawing, painting, digital/new media, photography, printmaking, installation, sculpture, textiles or a combination of these.

Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program Residency

Where: Dumbo, Brooklyn, USA

Period: 1 Year

About: The program is open to professional visual artists, 21 years or older who live in the US, as well as US citizens or permanent residents living abroad. The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free non-living studio space to 17 visual artists for year-long residencies in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

The Watermill Center – Artist Residency Program 2023

Period: Residencies are scheduled by mutual agreement between the accepted Resident Artist and The Watermill Center during January-June and September-December.

About: The Artist Residency Program is open to national and international artists 21+ years of age. A variety of disciplines are accepted including, but not limited to: visual arts, media/new genre, performance, architecture, film/video, literature, interdisciplinary arts, and music composition.

The RAiR Foundation ​​Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program

About: The Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program was established in 1967 to provide gifted studio-based visual artists with the unique opportunity to concentrate on their work in a supportive, collegial environment for an entire year. Center for Craft – Curatorial Fellowship

Where: Asheville, North Carolina, USA

Period: 1 Year

About: Three Curatorial Fellows will be selected to fully develop and mount their proposed exhibition in the Center for Craft’s exhibition spaces, during the 2023 exhibition season. Fellows will receive a grant of up to 5000 USD and work closely with the Center for Craft program staff to produce the exhibition.

About: Artists with professional standing in their fields, as well as emerging artists, are eligible to apply for the fellowship. The main criterion for acceptance to Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is artistic excellence and a demonstrated commitment to one’s field of endeavour. Byrdcliffe seeks to pull together artists from varying perspectives, ages, and demographics, and engage with a broad range of artistic practices

NTU CCA Singapore in partnership with the EU Delegation to Singapore – SEA AiR - Studio Residencies for Southeast Asian Artists.

About: SEA AiR will offer selected artists from Southeast Asia an engaging immersion in the European art scene that allows a deeper understanding of the various cultural strands and values shaping the continent. Participating artists can create links with other art projects in Singapore, their home countries and the wider region. At the end of the residency, the artists will have an exhibition in Singapore which will enable them to present and showcase their artwork to a wider audience.
