Alejos Lorenzo (Ferrol, Spain, 1975) Self-taught professional artist (exclusive dedication). He has studied technical and interior architecture. He is exhibiting since 1998. Exhibitions in New York, Atlanta, California, Florida, Milan, Beijing, Ibiza, Madrid, Barcelona, etc. He has participated in fairs such as Art Beijing, Affordable Art Fair Hampsted London, Flecha Madrid, etc. Much of his work is found in the US, in prestigious collections such as the Mayo Clinic. His work is symbolist, highly colorful and with a deeper meaning than what we can see at first glance, using visual language as a union between natural and human language.

Question Icon What inspires you?

My inspiration is Nature, all types of art, my family, technology, science.

Question Icon Describe your creative process.

I start painting without having planned it and as I do the work and at the end, sometimes over a long time, I find the meaning of different parts within the whole of the artwork.

Question Icon Who are some artists that have influenced your work?

A lot of painters as Picasso, Miró, Tanguy, Goya, Gauguin, Hopper, Dalí, Hockney, Nicolas de Staël, Lugrís, Quessada, Segura-Torrella, but the most is the musician Mike Oldfield.

Question Icon What is the most important tool when creating your work?

I made my own canvases and I use a glass recycled sand. I usually use brushes and the pc.

Question Icon What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

I think it is advice that I gave myself since I was little and it is to always act to my liking, to feel comfortable with what I do and not what others tell you you should do.

Question Icon Where do you go for inspiration?

I am a studio painter and in the summer I paint outdoors but I believe that everything I paint is the result of my contact with nature, with my family and with music for the most part. I guess I remember what I like and then I combine it when creating the artworks.
