Alessio Lucarini began developing his artistic practice after graduating from DAMS (Drama, Art and Music Studies), at the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna in 2014.
His artistic research begins with photography and this allowed him to create his first series of works, Planet Earth (2021) and Colors (2020-2022). Subsequently he abandons the idea of using photography as the only expressive means to approach painting as an expression of his new research.
The transition from photography to painting represents not only a change of medium, but also an evolution in his approach to artistic creation. In painting, the artist finds the freedom to express his emotions and intuitions in ways that photography, while powerful, seems to limit. This step reinvigorates his research and broadens his visual language, allowing him to address complex issues and interact with the user in the most profound and personal way.
The current artistic research, which led to the creation of Untitled, presents itself as a complex and fascinating journey in which color is much more than a simple decorative element. It takes on a fundamental symbolic role, conveying profound meanings. The question of color therefore becomes a reflection on the personal experiences of the artist, who is inspired by both his own unconscious and conscious, establishing a dialogue between his inner world and external reality.
