More About Alexandra Astapova

Question IconWhat inspires you?

People and their feelings

Question IconDescribe your creative process.

I sketch on paper, the colors are already in my mind, so I only use charcoal. And then I begin to gradually draw the picture on the canvas. The portrait comes first, and only then the color composition around it. I paint pictures in one breath, it takes at least a week.

Question IconWhat are 3 words that best describe your work?

Noir, sensuality, emotions

Question IconWhat is the best piece of advice you have been given?

You only have you, remember that

Question IconWhere do you go for inspiration?

I take inspiration from everyday life. That is, I’m not going anywhere, I’m already here. You never know what a new day will bring. And it's an amazing game.
