Subsequently moving to Dubai and joining HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates, the world's leading hospitality interior design firm, played a crucial role in shaping her artistic trajectory. During those years, in fact, she delved into rug design, a path that led her also into the intricate world of tapestry. Driven by a deep-rooted passion for travel and the captivating pull of discovering new cultures, Antilla Di Lauro further broadened her horizons. She ventured to Saudi Arabia to work for the Crown Prince Private Affairs, managing the interior design of His Royal Highness’ private palaces. Her voyage continued to Zurich, where she assumed the role of Design Director at Hyatt, overseeing architecture, design, and art for new hotels across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Drawing inspiration from her enriching experiences, Antilla Di Lauro devoted herself to the art world embarking on a profound creative quest. Antilla Di Lauro's pieces embody a symphony of influences drawn from the various geographies that have shaped her life and career. Her work explores themes close to her heart - travel, freedom, and fearlessness - blending them seamlessly with the introspective journey of self-reflection and self-development, all through the transformative power of art. She is particularly intrigued by the transcendent potential of tapestry, creating multi-layered pieces that mirror the complexity of human existence. In her creative practice, Antilla Di Lauro experiments with an array of materials, ranging from the time-honored textures of wool, bamboo silk, and linen to the cutting-edge use of recycled plastic.
