Antonio S. Sinaga

Antonio Sebastian Sinaga (b. Surabaya, 1988) is a Soemardja Award laureate and an ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology) graduate. Having his BFA from Ceramic Studio, Faculty of Visual Art and Design, ITB; Nino (Antonio’s nickname) has been take part in many exhibitions and shows. Although academically trained as a ceramist, Nino often use photography as his medium of choice. Using elements of surrealism, Nino questioned issues concerning faith and belief in his erstwhile artworks. Nino’s first solo exhibition was “Bandung Contemporary: In Absentia”, at Roemah Seni Sarasvati, Bandung, Indonesia. His most recent group exhibitions were: “ The Show Mask Go On” at exhibition hall Bale Pare, Kota Baru Parahyangan, Indonesia; and “Manifesto number. 4: Daily Life – Mencandra Tanda-tanda Masa”, at National Gallery Jakarta, Indonesia. Today, Nino lives and works in Bandung.
