His work fluctuates between precise, formal examinations of geographic shapes and more playful, idiosyncratic creations.
He is currently living and working in Byron Bay, Australia.
Describe your creative process.
I often use rather obvious structural strategies to perplex the viewer's response. For example, my series of Architectural Butterfly(s) suggest a corner of a room flattened out. However, through subtle color relationships a well-trod visual trope opens up into something more flowing, even mysterious. For example, the series of Architectural Butterfly(s) suggest a corner of a room flattened out. However, what I'm after is subtle color relationships that read flowing, even mysterious. What is the most important tool when creating your work?
My practice is labor intensive. The aluminum needs a lot of preparation.
Where do you go for inspiration?
I always head to the studio.
