Chong Ai Lei

Chong Ai Lei was born in 1985 in Johor, Malaysia. In 2013 she had a solo exhibition at Sangkring Art Space in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, and in 2016, at Galeri Canna in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has participated in group exhibitions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, China and the UK.

Her Untitled - Hunch series was sold in 2015 at the Malaysian & Southeast Asian Art Auction by Henry Butcher in KL, and her True Romance series in other auctions by Christie's in Hong Kong in 2013 and 2014. In 2011 she was the winner of the Malaysia Emerging Artist Award (MEAA) in Kuala Lumpur, the same award for which she was a finalist in 2009.
