Douglas Rieger

Douglas Rieger's work is aggressive and languid, utilitarian and abstract. It has a perversity, and humor giving it a muddy sexuality that blends the body and the mechanism. The works are not meant to fit a logic, they are a dialogue between machine and operator.

Douglas Rieger (b. 1984, Pittsburgh PA) lives and works in New York, NY. He received his MFA from Yale in 2016 and BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. Rieger’s work has been exhibited at Helena Anrather Gallery (New York, NY), Thierry Goldberg Gallery (New York, NY), 67 Ludlow Gallery (New York, NY), 1708 Gallery (Richmond, VA), E.Tay Gallery (New York, NY), Parallelogram Gallery (Tampa, FL).
