Gayathry. D is a water colour artist from India. Her paintings have a distinct style and captures the quintessential beauty of rural India. Gayathry believes that watercolor is a very powerful media to create expressive images that brings villages, markets, temples and cultural artifacts to life. She enjoys creating semi-realistic paintings En plein air, which enthuses her to explore the rawness of the country side and the cultural pockets of India; and painting landscapes on the spot or creating key sketches which she later uses to recreate partially from her imagination. Her bright and colourful paintings with the play of light and shadows will appeal to art lovers of all ages and walks of life.
