Hodeuk Kim was born in 1950 in Daegu, Korea. He has a BFA and MFA in Painting, from 1975 and 1985 respectively, from the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea.
He has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout Korea, including at the Kim Chong Yung Museum, Seoul (2014), Bongsan Cultural Center, Daegu (2010) and Cyan Museum of Art, Yeoncheon (2009). His works have also been included in group exhibitions in Paris, Japand and other major Korean cities, such as Daegu, Seoul, Jeju, Cheongju and more. In 2008 he won the 22nd Kumbok Culture Award Art Prize, and in 2004 the 15th Lee, Joong-Seop Art Prize. His works are in public collections such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Gwacheon, Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, and Daegu Art Museum, Daegu.
