Based in: Kuala Lumpur
Husni Osman is an emerging Malaysian contemporary artist that is quickly gaining prominence within the local arts scene. The raw brush strokes and untainted innocence within his neo-expressionist works provides a refreshing development and new insight into the Malaysian contemporary art industry.
Trained in landscape architecture, young Husni Osman took leave of his then-career upon bearing witness to the art of Mark Rothko. Overwhelmed and enthralled into the world of art, he took to the streets as a street painter, simultaneously learning and practising his art. A testament to his life as a street painter, his largest installation of 36 portraits titled 'Why Are You Wearing those Blue Glasses' are his personal expressions of the many persons he met along the way, and even of those he never met...it is a portrait of the Malaysian society, of people from disparate walks of life that face common challenges in life.
Self taught since 2008, Husni had his first solo exhibition titled "City" Boy in early 2015 wherein his collection of portraits 'Why Are You Wearing those Blue Glasses?' was showcased and gained much media attention.
His artworks are exhibited and collected both locally and internationally in Germany and Vienna.
We don't have any works from this artist at the moment.
