Im Suniy

Born: 1971

Hometown: Korea

Based in: Anseong & Seoul

Im Suniy has been creating her artworks by observing aspects and changes of the city we live in and our time from her delicate perspective and creating and revealing ‘landscape’ with unique and new images through various genres encompassing sculpture, installation and photography.

Since 2007, particularly, Im has worked on a series of sculpture, installations and photographs of topographical maps: Trifocal Sight and Towards the Ultimate. These are her signature works showing new images of 'topographical landscape' posing a question over disparity between concept and perception, the process of how the disparity is created and a view observing the process through Mt. Inwang and Mt. Nam - Seoul's representative mountains and symbols of Korean art history.
