Ivan Shaw is an Australian photographer with a passion for capturing the raw beauty of nature. His work is characterised by meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to traditional methods, specialising in large-format 8x10 black and white photography.
After studying at the Film and Television Institute in Fremantle, Ivan spent over a decade in London, immersed in the fast-paced world of fashion and advertising. Working alongside renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino. In 2014 he went on to co-found Wild Island Films, working with iconic brands like Adidas, Dior, and Vogue.
In 2021, Ivan returned to Western Australia, drawn back by the landscapes that inspired him from the start. Building his own darkroom studio, he embraced a slower, more intentional creative process.
His current project, Infinite Wonder, explores the ancient, old-growth forests of Pemberton through a series of striking large-scale prints. Through his lens, Ivan invites viewers to experience the quiet power of these natural environments, offering a contemplative escape from the modern world.
Now based in Fremantle, Western Australia, Ivan continues to push the boundaries of analogue photography, crafting work that celebrates the timeless connection between art and nature.
