Jaime Roque was born in 1947 in the Philippines where he now lives and works.

The artist has been exhibiting since 1972, in different parts of the country and abroad: in Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the USA. Two of his works are at the Library and boardroom of the National Museum and also at the Bank of Philippine Island, Central Bank, Philippine International Convention Centre and the Malaysian Palace.

Two decades ago he was known as one of the five 'Magic Realists'. He was also an Art Director of Technology Resource Centre (TRC). He was recipient of a Government Grant to the Burbank Studios in Hollywood LA, California USA in 1987. When he came back in 1988, he worked as a Director, Assistant Director, Script Writer and Production Designer of the Television Series "Balinataw", and was also Art Director at Parks and Wildlife.

He was one of the Founders of AFACE (Antipolo Foundation for Arts, Culture and Ecology) headed by Dr. Cuanang, LAMP (Layman Apostolic Movement of the Philippines) headed by Jose Roque which are both inclined to arts and ecology. He is also one of the founders of the Gallery Genesis and a Second Place Awardee of the Phillip Morris Sponsored Philippines Art Awards.

He has exhibited with six other Filipino artists in 1975, and has mounted a two-man show with his mentor Manuel (Boy) Rodriguez Jr. in Sydney, Australia in 1980.

International group shows he has participated in are the Ecology Art Exhibit in Glendale, California in 1987 and the Asean Art Show at the Singapore Trade Centre in 1994, where he represented the country as its major winner.

Jaime Roque has the Patnubay ng Kalinangan Award for painting awarded by the city of Manila in 1984, and the 2nd prize at the prestigious ASEAN Art Awards of 1994. Malabon City gave him an award in the field of painting at its Fourth Centennial Celebration in 2000.
