Jesus Torio is an Andalusian visual artist and nurse, working in the medium of photography. His artistic practice is rooted in personal experiences, most notably his work as a nurse in a hospital word. In his art, he explores themes of color and abstraction, aiming to create images that inspire a state of meditation and reflection, allowing the viewer to discover their own interpretations and meanings.
Torio’s photographs have been exhibited in galleries and festivals across Europe. Among these are: Out of the Blue Photography Exhibition, Edinburgh, UK; AOP Awards Finalist Exhibition, Edinburgh, UK; Young Talent Dior, Arles Photo Festival, LUMA, Arles, France; Copeland Gallery, London, UK; and Meet You Festival, Teatro Calderon, Valladolid, Spain. In 2022, he was selected as a Laureate of the Dior Awards for Young Talents. He was also a two-time finalist of the AOP Student Awards as well as the finalist at the British Photography Awards. Torio was among the selected artists at the COCA Project Awards and LensCulture Open Awards.
