Artist & graphic designer graduated from the University ‘Universidad Rafael Landívar’.
In 1992, she founded her own studio called “Nuevos Vitrales” as a result of her passion for the multifaceted and unlimited use of glass, turning it into art, opening the way for her creativity, and using the technique of covering stained-glass windows for the first time in Guatemala. Karin is self-taught, not to mention the experience she gained thanks to the professors Dagoberto Vásquez, Ernesto Boesche, the designers Leisser Kachler, Jorge Rossi, and Danny Schafer. She has specialized in molten glass, grisaille, stained-glass windows using copper foil tape, and in sandblast. She has participated in courses, conferences, and fairs in the United States, France, and Germany. Additionally, she has shown herself worthy of diverse international awards.
Part of her work displayed in the architecture of the city of Guatemala is: the commercial stained-glass windows of the facade of Hotel Las Américas and of Century Plaza Mall; the religious stained-glass windows, using the lead came technique, of the churches San Miguel Petapa and Hermanas del Sagrado Corazón de María, among others.
