Jing Joo is a practicing artist who has made the often conflicting needs for human development and natural conservation the central theme of her works. The fast-paced, busy, highly urbanized environment is often distracting, and she hopes that her work will give the viewer pause to reflect on the problems Nature and Man are facing. Urbanisation is irreversible to a certain extent and it is no longer feasible to look at Nature in its pristine natural state. Perhaps the strategy is to see these issues through un-natural means, so that we may achieve a balance between the urban and natural settings.
