Kristin Genet
Born: 1978
Hometown: Berlin
Based in: Atlanta
Kristin Genet was born in a small village in former East Germany. At a very young age, she was exposed to finding creative ways to make the most out of living in a socialist state. She helped her father, a teacher by trade build a furniture-making business on the side. She spent most of her free time outside in the woods building forts. During her high school years she fell in love with both the performing and fine arts. Later on she studied Architecture in Dresden, one of Germany's most history-laden cities. With the opportunity to travel, after the wall came down she followed her love for adventure and lived in Granada, Spain. During that time her love for set design grew and she enrolled into the prestigious Berlin film school HFF. Her thesis film production brought her all the way to Hollywood. That was 17 years ago. Kristin has been living and working since in the United States transitioning from Set Design to event design and arts. Her artist studio is located right outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is deeply inspired by the love of earth, her European background and her travels all over the globe.
