Jang Kwang-Bum obtained a Plastic Arts licence in Seoul and a doctorate in aesthetic in Paris (where he lives since 2007). The artist is part of a double filiation, at once Korean and Western. His works are linked with the monochrome movement, abstract and contemplative of the Dansaekhwa. In parallel, he takes his inspiration in the impressionist painting of Monet by observing the nature and its multiples variations of colour. His obsession to show the passing time leads him to accumulate numerous acrylic paint layers on the same canvas, to then continue a meticulous work of sanding and removal of the material. Beyond the marvellously finish, it gives tangible form to time which moves in front of the audience.
We don't have any works from this artist at the moment. Get in touch at contact@theartling.com to find out more.
