Artist, painter, Ioannis Lassithiotakis was born in 1956 in Crete. He studied in Italy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence before establishing his studio in Athens where he lives and works today. His practice revolves around the concept of "abstract universality". The artist uses a refined language made up of lines and large color areas which, at first glance, seem naked, static. However, his compositions involve a deeper dynamism and symbolism. Ioannis Lassithiotakis calls the eye to careful observation beyond the flow of images invading our days, he reveals the simple relationships between the elements of our reality.
