Lee Kun-Yong

Lee Kun-Yong is one of Korea's foremost avant-garde artists, born in 1942 in Sariwon, Hwanghae-do, Korea. He received his BFA in Fine Art from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, Korea in 1967, and his Master's in Education at Geimyung University, Daegu, Korea.

He has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout Korea, most notably at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Korea in 2014, and in the US. He has also participated in group exhibitions in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States and more.

In 2013 he won the Grand Prize of Korean Arts and Culture; in 2007, the 8th Lee In-sung Art Prize, and in 1979, the Grand Prize at the Lisbon International Show, Portugal.
