Liu Ren (刘韧）

Born in Shanghai in 1983, Liu Ren graduated from the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University in 2007. Recently acclaimed for being awarded with the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize 2014, Liu Ren's work is represented by several galleries and has been showcased in various group exhibitions along with fellow prominent contemporary artists. Selected solo shows include 2013's and 2011's Filtrate and Aside exhibitions at White Space Beijing, as well as 2012's Youth exhibition at Don Gallery Shanghai. Time and life always remain fundamental motifs for Ren's work, in which the meeting between subjective feelings and objective reality is constantly being explored.
