Mária Rimarčíková (1973) is a Slovak painter who dedicates her work to seeking out the confluence of human existence and the transcendent. She entered the art world as a self-taught artist, and gradually her work evolved towards abstract expression and experimantation with painting, enriched with collage elements. She draws inspiration from nature and installs her paintings in natural environments. Mária perceives nature as space for contemplation, self-reflection, and meditation, qualities that are in opposition to our rushed and overexposed world today. Through her paintings, Mária Rimarčíková therefore invites the viewer to look inward, listen and rediscover inner self.
