As a life-long New Yorker, Marilyn Henrion’s aesthetic vision has always been deeply rooted in the urban geometry of her surroundings, whether at home or abroad. This is true of her early pieced geometric abstractions as well as her more recent mixed media works. In her textile-based works she synthesizes and transforms the ‘facts” of the material world to reflect her experience of a particular place, much as Edward Hopper did in the 20th century.
Henrion’s work is included in museum, corporate, government, and private collections throughout the world. She is also represented in the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Art.
