« I don't think we become artists, we are born artists, we live as artists and we die as artists. »
Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos divides her time between Cyprus and Paris. She graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) and the Académie Charpentier, also in Paris, and in 2016 she walked away with both the 1st Salon d’ Automne prize 2016 and the Christiane Peugeot prize. She has been enthralled by drawing and colour from a very early age, and the power and energy that radiate from her work reflect her spirited and generous nature. Francis Picabia once entitled one of his paintings "Music is like painting", and so it is with the works of Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos, where drawing, colour, text, movement, dance and music combine to treat the viewer to an ongoing play on a theatre stage. Here characters are busy dancing, reciting, protesting, accusing, asserting or simply having fun, borne along by a setting and context that is often linked to current affairs in France and abroad. Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos's plays on words distil essential messages: those of a free-thinking woman and artist swept along by a lifelong passion. Michèle Ansermet Papadopoulos regularly exhibits her work in France, Cyprus, Japan, China, France London and Belgium. Her forthcoming exhibitions will take her to Switzerland
